The main purpose of the workshop classes is to create an opportunity for children to stimulate their independent artistic activity. The classes are to develop children’s substantial abilities and skills in a complementary way.
The classes have always included the presentation of a current exhibition and a talk on it. Thanks to such an arrangement children can learn about various artistic phenomena and try to find their own way of interpreting works of art. We try to break a stereotype which says that contemporary art is incomprehensible and difficult in interpretation. We strive to convince children to abandon the deep analysis in favour of finding an own method of reading works on the basis of their own sensations and feelings. We strive also to develop children’s ability of giving verbal and artistic articulation of their experiences. The range of workshop practices includes interdisciplinary artistic actions like spatial installations and performances.
In the world where beauty and aesthetics are more and more often forgotten, we have created a place in which children’s sensibility and expression can find an opportunity to get a real form during the process of creative activity.
