Apart from visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture and film) Armando has cultivated literature and music. At the beginning of his creative life, his works were associated with the streams of informel art and the new figuration. At that time he founded the Netherlands Informal Group and exhibited with the Zero Group. In the mid-60s the Armando’s attitude has clearly escaped the simplified classifications, creating a separate and unique phenomenon on the artistic map of Europe. His art, inspired by his personal experience of war, is focused on the phenomena of violence and evil.
