Scrapbooking is traditionally a way of decorating photo albums, and can also be used to make greeting cards, bookmarks, notebooks, diaries or any other imaginative projects. The basic materials needed are sheets of coloured paper, stamps, decorative studs and bolts, buttons, a hole punch, and paper flowers; however, you could also use metal pads, cogs, zips or any other peculiar decorative elements. These are later glued, stapled or machine sewn together.
Scrapbooking is a very popular and widely used decorative technique. Yet, what counts most is your own imagination and creativity. A unique composition is created using whatever you have available. Creative recycling, one could say.
