PORTRAIT — photographic workshop with Joanna Nowicka
Snapshotville — a new educational panel for photography buffs ‘The camera is not only an extension of the eye, but of the brain. It can see sharper, farther, nearer, slower and faster than the eye. It can see by invisible...
The leading theme of the workshop is THE PORTRAIT, which will be realised in two tasks. While trying to portray A WOMAN, we will take advantage of the urban space and light, and spend a couple of hours with a professional model and take portraits of her with a city in the background. The other task will be a reportage portrait, with the focus on the inhabitants of Katowice — interesting personalities or ordinary people with a story to tell. Although both tasks focus on a portrait, the manner in which they are taken is different, as different rules apply — we will discuss these and look at samples of portrait photography at the introductory meeting. Then we go on to select and edit images taken during the plein-air. Photo edition is one of the tools used to achieve the desired effects.
A workshop entrance fee is: 199 zł
