‘I can't attempt a comprehensive and competent discussion of the accomplishments spanning forty years of the artist's broad creative activity and professional work. Artistic printmaking, poster and other forms of graphic design, photography, stage design and particularly television scenography produced for Television Theatre and cultural programmes in the Katowice TV Centre (preceded by and combined with the work as cameraman in this Centre) and finally, desinging and mounting major artistic exhibitions mainly for the Art Exhibitions Bureau in Katowice — this, in brief, is Ferdynand Szypuła's field of penetration and scope of achievements.
Nevertheless first and foremost I am a graphic artist said the artist in a press interviev and this declaration made almost twenty years ago is confirmed not only by his artistic output but also by his participation in the exhibition movement, his links with the artistic environment, his long standing cooperation in the organization of the International Print Biennale (later Triennale) in Cracow, and particulary in the creation and assembling of the cyclical international exhibition Intergrafia in Katowice — that is, in short, his versatile and fruitful connections with artistic printmaking.’
