macro photography workshops with Magda Wasiczek
Magdalena Wasiczek Nikx (1973) has worked out her own poetic style in nature photography and macro-photography. Her works have been shown in Poland and abroad (including Great Britain, Australia and France) and have earned her many awards in photographic competitions in Poland and abroad. She is the first Polish person to receive the title of the International Garden Photographer of the Year 2012 in an international competition in England. Her pictures have been reprinted in numerous publications (not exclusively dedicated to photography) in Poland and abroad, including dfv, Foto-Kurier, Foto, Digital Camera, Amateur Photographer, Better Plant and Garden Photography, Vogue Italy. Welcome to My Fairy Tale or Magda Wasiczek's macro-space.
The course is intended for beginners, as well as advanced photographers who would like to enhance their skills in photography of flowers and insects — for open and creative people who would like their pictures to be not only technically correct, but also unlike all the others.
On day one — Magda Wasiczek will reveal you the contents of her camera bag and discuss the equipment and techniques that she uses in her work. She will use her own pictures to exemplify the functioning of various lenses, adapters and converters. She will also give away some tricks and tips, to make her classes less of an encyclopaedic documentation of the universe of plants and insects — and perhaps to sprinkle the course with a bit of poetry and magic. She will also tell you how to deal with light or lack thereof, and how to manage without a flashlight. There will be a few words on post-production.
On day two — under the workshop leader's guidance, you will put all of this into practice.
