For 35 years, the Atelier 34zero Muzeum, an independent contemporary art center located in Belgium, gathers together a international collection of contemporary art works paying a special attention to sculpture and three-dimensional art through thematics, confrontationals and monographics exhibitions.
The Atelier 340 Muzeum, chronically under-subsidized during 35 years, has been knock down by small politicians and french speaking apparatchiks from the Belgian’s socialist party and had to cease its activities.
With artists such as Wacław Szpakowski (PL), Katarzyna Górna (PL), Nils-Udo (DE), Bernar Venet (FR), Bob Verschueren (BE) or Patrick Dougherty (US), the Atelier 340 Muzeum has given itself a group of creations that broach thematics linked to animals and plants, abstractions or the place of the human being in society. A collection built with the permanent objective to raise aesthetic, moral or social issues embedded with our time.
This collection built over 37 years of exhibition is the mark of thematics that has been developed during the artistic programme. 80% of the art works were purchased by the Atelier 340 Muzeum While 20% were artists donations.
An intimate and often friendly relationship with artists has given the collection this particular resonance. Initially focused on sculpture and three-dimensional art, the art center has then expanded to painting, drawing and photography.
