Belgian artist Filip Dujardin is an architectural photographer. Dujardin's photomontages present structures, which were made using the technique of digital collaging, with combined images of real buildings.
Dujardin’s works can be found in the collections of San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art and Museum of Modern Art in New York, among other institutions.
The exhibition in the BWA Gallery features Katowice’s unfamiliar cityscape and photographic transformations of the city’s buildings.
Filip Dujardin's architectonic creations tend to be impossible constructions, although they are deceptively ordinary at first glance. It takes a moment of careful scrutiny to notice the missing or unusual elements in these buildings and appreciate their absurdity.
