Line and Chaos — the World in Spatial Compositions The exhibition Line and Chaos presents the undertakings, works and achievements of a couple of generations of artists from the avant-garde movement in...
The publication is part of the project Line and Chaos. The project aimed to present works by selected artists from the Silesian avant-garde movement, which began with the cooperation of Julian Przyboś and Władysław Strzemiński. The volume entitled Z ponad, which was published in Cieszyn, was the most radical poetry book in the history of Polish avant-garde and the first publication that came off the press under the label ‘Biblioteka a.r.’. Marek Zieliński, the curator of the project, demonstrated how Strzemiński and his typescript Theory of Seeing, along with the multicultural atmosphere of the town, which is located on the border of two countries, and combined with its art school, the Cieszyn branch of the University of Silesia, became the animating spirit for experimental art and new galleries.
