Calligraphy, meaning beautiful writing, is the art of meticulous, neat, highly decorative handwriting. It evolved for centuries and then became forgotten for a while, but regained popularity at the beginning of the 20th century, and has been developing ever since.
This two-day workshop provides a comprehensive insight into the history and technique of calligraphy. During the first session, participants are going to learn how to use a flat nib, and during the second one, they will be trying their hand with a pointed one. Also, there will be an overview of Mediaeval handwriting styles and a close focus on the Copperplate script.
The workshop is inclusive and appropriate for both beginner and advanced calligraphists — participants can learn the technique from scratch or work on developing their skills.
