Martyna Kielesińska ‘There's Nothing to Worry About’
Martyna Kielesińska seems to be immersed in the summertime idyll. It all happens on a scorching hot afternoon. The main character is a body in the relaxed state of between dream and awake. Sated and idle — only until the irrational fear of the future sets in. Using the found footage technique, the artist manages to distort the meaning of each appropriated image by placing it in an uneasy neighbourhood. The result is a fluidic imaginarium, where substances flow freely, jellies wobble, foam bubbles break, ice melts, while all are being constantly flicked by rhythmic movement that includes jumping, swinging and turning. Not even one thing can hold its shape unchanged and the various forms keep balancing on the verge of a complete transformation. Everything is still possible.
