Primal Fantasies — Emilia Kina i Filip Rybkowski
Filip Rybkowski and Emilia Kina create their exhibitions as if they were stage sets, designed to re-enact stories from bygone times. Accidentally spotted forms and gestures have made their way into these artists' works, wherein they appear as sculptural puzzles — and force benumbed imaginations to work. In the process of reconstruction, the artists made sure that there was no trace of context left and no caption or annotation available for the audience, thus making it impossible to link any particular object to date and place of its origin. Thus, our subconscious is teased and memory deposits are cleansed on a micro scale. Hybrid-like objects — which may well have been taken from a geological dig or a picturesque dumping ground — are now combined into a three-dimensional map that awaits its colonists.
